Melting plastic: PLA can melt

Can plastic melt with chemicals. The answer is yes, but only for curtain plastic materials. But the main plastic that can dissolve faster is PLA plastic. From previous article and for future article that focus on PLA plastic. The reason we want to dissolve plastic is to create smooth texture on the surface that eliminate layers that is visible. Most hobby and creator can leave the printed PLA as is to show off the layer surface. But most want smooth texture for most parts.


to accomplish this method we can have different process. mainly it's using sand paper and time to polish the surface but you will have different uneven areas. Another you can spray a primer to add a layer to coat the surface and get an even layer of thin polymer. Finally, we can use curtain chemicals to dissolve the surface.
